Best-selling works include 18th & Castro, Captain of Industry, The Kiss that Counted, Maybe Next Time, and Sugar and span lesbian romance, lesbian erotica and lesbian science-fiction/fantasy. Her lesbian fiction novels include multiple Goldie and Lammy award-winners. Karin Kallmaker’s devotion to lesbian fiction began after the film Desert Hearts led her to the library and onward to the women-in-print network of publishers and bookstores.
